From today there is a new forest on the planet:
the Bouygues Energies & Services Italia forest!
In line with the values of the Group, we at Bouygues Energies & Services Italia are actively committed to a greener future and are taking a significant step: giving life to a Forest that will have a positive environmental and social impact, supporting farming communities and helping them cope with the effects of climate crisis and uncontrolled deforestation.
On the occasion of the annual event dedicated to staff, we decided to give a gift to our employees with the aim of stimulating the growth of sustainable culture through the meaningful involvement of everyone. In fact, we have gifted each employee with a tree, which today represents the most effective solution for reducing greenhouse gases. Each tree can be adopted, geolocated, and monitored in its growth, through the input on the zeroCO2 website of a code that each employee will have.
For the planting of our 435 fruit and forest trees, we have chosen Guatemala, where one of the highest rates of deforestation on the planet is recorded, so much so that from 2001 to 2020 it lost 20% of its forest cover, equivalent to an area of 1.5 million hectares of forests.
With the Insieme RiforesTIAMO project, we aim to reinforce our commitment to people as well. Guatemalan farming families will be able to take care of the trees donated to them and benefit from their fruits.
With this project, we at Bouygues Energies & Services Italia are supporting their food and income security, helping to generate a sustainable economic system.
